Hatesa's Visit

Hatesa, a friend of John's family, came to speak to our team about Samoan life.  She had some very interesting information to tell us.  A big thanks to Hatesa for bringing along mats, fans, lavalavas, and Siapo cloth. Thanks a heap John for helping to organise this.

Dress up time.
Grace wearing her lavalava with John's mum, Jo and Poppy in the background.

Connor, wearing the lavalava the way boys do in Samoa.
Olivia wearing a shell necklace, males wear necklaces made of seed pods and plant material
Monte with his lavalava and woven fan.

Mats. Some are used for ceremonies and others for day to day use.
Hatesa out-fitting John. Below is John with his lavalava.
