Matariki kite making day

Rm 11 12 13 are making kites this week to fly on friday afternoon and they are made out of bamboo and toi toi the kites real names are Manu Turku tuku in Maori language we've made them because of Matariki day  (a new year for Maori tradition).

Matariki Rotation

On Monday the year 5/6 syndicate did a te reo Maori rotation these rotations involved children learning the rakau, paper weaving, poi, making porotiti musical instruments, korwhaiwhai patterns and flax weaving. Our five clases were all split up into groups. We each got to do three different activities. You are welcome to come and see some of the things we did. :)

Fundraiser

Fundraiser to Support Education in Afghanistan
On Tuesday 16th June (Week 9), we are holding a Pyjama Day fundraiser (gold coin donation).  The funds will go directly to a school in Afghanistan.  The money is needed to finish off the classrooms with painting, windows, doors and insulation etc.
